Timeless Kitchen Renovation in Brookline

Opening up this kitchen to the dining room was a large factor in the layout of this space. Questions about permanent posts in the adjoining wall had us considering lots of peninsula variations. Once demoed it became clear that a post was not evident, nor needed, giving ample space and flexibility for design.

Now that the kitchen was fully exposed, it made the most sense to conceal some of the large appliances with matching panels creating a furniture finished look. The home itself bares many original design details, which flow throughout the kitchen.

A desire and passion for entertaining played a role is the layout. Making it easy to host guests in the dining room while prepping and preparing meals. Seats at the peninsula were a must, as guests often converse with the chef throughout the evening.

Drinks could easily be served up at the countertop cabinet. This features a pocket door enhancement meant to open up space.

On top of aesthetic, function and organization were a large part of this kitchen. Roll out trays in the tall pantry provided easy access. A pull out spice rack beside the range adds efficiency to meal time. Additionally, corner drawers with deep boxes make storage of nontypical items easier than ever.
