Transitional Bathroom Remodel
From 80’s floral to Modern Transitional
Like every 1980’s home, the main bathroom was in need of a facelift. The layout and structure provided a stable base from which we built this gorgeous transitional bathroom. We wanted to move the laundry room from the bath to the hallway, but because of electrical code it had to stay. Instead, we updated the stained glass doors and added decorative storage inside. The paneled glass provided the modern feel our client was gravitating towards.
Pastel blue giving the blues
Removing the pastel blue tub and replacing it with a glass enclosed shower opened up the space, making it appear bigger and brighter. For usability, a floating bench seat was added to the back of the shower. Black fixtures made a statement on the neutral tile pallet, making each piece pop.
We love incorporating a niche for storage inside the shower. This also provides a great focal point to display tile, where we pulled in the matching river rock from the shower floor.
A medium shade cherry finish was used on the vanity, as a result, this created a subtle balance in color and brought more warmth to the space. When space allows, a double vanity is always a good idea.
