Traditional Kitchen
The existing traditional kitchen featured all wood medium stained cabinetry, tile flooring and black countertops. Our client decided it was time for a change and wanted to mix in some lighter finishes including the cabinetry and countertops, while keeping a traditional style. A beautiful stained cherry island keeps the warmth and richness, allowing the brush glazed white perimeter to lighten the room. Light and bright, yet full of character!
Attention to detail
The traditional details may be subtle but they create a remarkable space altogether. Features such as the beaded inset doors, stacked crown molding and curved light rail add interest and charm. Every exposed side panel was designed to match the front of the cabinet. Open shelves in the uppers and lowers offer a place to display seasonal decor. Valances over each window flanking the range made the wall cabinetry feel more like furniture.
Narrow cabinetry was added to one end of this stunning island. Each corner adorned with a sturdy mission style leg and wrapped with baseboard molding. Underneath the overhang we installed 12″ deep base cabinets to allow for additional storage.
Home on the range
Where the sink once stood, now houses the range hood, embellished with intricate shelving and corbels making this area the statement piece within the kitchen. Pull out storage options to the left and right optimize the cooking zone. Paneled appliances, as always, add a decorative and cohesive element to the kitchen.
The strong finish
Oiled rubbed bronze hardware, a typically traditional finish, pulled out the glaze on the white cabinetry while also providing contrast. The antique Tuscan style backsplash softened the clean lines of the cabinetry and added to the warmth even further. Subtle beige and tan veining in the countertops brought each element together, providing a beautiful work and entertainment space.
