Modern Quaint Kitchen

Lower Level Kitchen

In Beacon Hill, our client renovated their newly purchased brownstone condo. With little space to work with, it was our goal to really optimize the areas and create function to fit their family and lifestyle. The kitchen location was in the lower level, which reduced the ceiling height quite drastically. Opting for no crown molding provided additional storage and the sleek, modern look they were aiming for. This light brown stain paired with the new hardwood floors warmed up the room. The subtle full height backsplash and dark hardware gave it some edge.

Accessories

Optimizing the interior cabinetry provided the function they were looking for. We used units like trash bins, pull out shelving and a lazy susan. Behind the floating shelves was a large brick fireplace that could not be removed. With the fridge to the right, we wanted to utilize the deep space to the left and created a beautiful built in hutch.

Pantry

When space allows, a tall pantry aids in providing ample storage. Incorporating roll out shelves make everything inside easily accessible. Placing the pantry beside a fridge helped conceal the appliance and blends it into the surrounding cabinets.

Vanity Cabinets

Included in this home, we designed vanity cabinets for the primary and full bathrooms, both in the same pretty warm brown tone. To soften the color pallet, our client opted for champagne gold hardware, while the plumbing fixtures remained matte black. Often times we are asked if mixing metal colors is allowed and have found it to be a great way to add texture and color, while ensuring the finish (polished versus matte) stays the same.

Wet Bar

One final area featured in this home was in the upstairs dining and sitting area, we designed a wet bar with refrigeration and plenty of storage. With the kitchen being on the floor below, having this area was both convenient and beautiful!
